Family: Wife Myrna is financial director of the St. Paul Area Synod, ELCA. Daughter Ainsley of Bethlehem PA, and son Benjamin of
Westminster MD.
Passions in Ministry: Faith formation and spiritual growth for all
ages, and lively and diverse worship built on the traditional Lutheran pattern.
Hobbies: Cross-cultural travel and singing in the Twin Cities’ chamber choir Exultate

Family: Husband Burke Hill works at Fairview Southdale as a Nurse Anesthetist. Two children, Caleb age 10 and Marta age 5.
Passions in Ministry: Faith formation with young families, the Church
seasons, story telling, teaching and reaching.
Hobbies: Knitting, music, hiking & camping, reading and theatre

and Minnesota.

Has served congregations in: Carver, MN. He also ministers full-time as a Chaplain at Augustana
Health Care Center and Apartments Year began serving Mount Carmel: 2005.
Family: Wife Kathy is the Children's Ministry
Director at Lake Harriet Methodist Church, Minneapolis. Daughter Anne is raising her
son, Shawn, working and is in her 2nd year of college. Son Tim, lives in Santa Barbara, CA.

Jeanette Burmeister Child Care Director

Year began serving Mount Carmel: Jeanette was part of the task force wanting to open a Child Care Center
at Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church. She has been an employee of the Child Care Center since September, 1989 and the
Director since 1997.
Family: Lives with husband Dan. Two adult children, Eric and Josie, live nearby.
Interests: Working with children, reading and traveling

the University of Minnesota

Passions in Ministry: John is trained in both liturgy and music, and loves what others have called “rowdy
high liturgy.” He has also been active in working with and studying Christianity and the arts.

Ken Bogie Facilities Manager
Ken and his family have lived in Northeast Minneapolis for 30 years. He has a degree
in electronic technology and had worked in that field for 20 years prior to joining the
Mount Carmel staff in 1997. Ken enjoys spending his spare time with his family.
